Why JonTron can go fuck himself
I’m apparently in a bitter mood and feel like making a post about JonTron. JonTron (real name Jon Jafari) is a former member of Game Grumps and runs his own YouTube channel and some gaming news(?) website called Normal Boots. Anyway, here’s some of the shit he’s done to destroy my respect for him.
“retarded”
JonTron used the word retarded to refer to something he didn’t like. It happens, the word has become very common to use without offense intended; I have been known to use it before. His handling of backlash, however, was less than acceptable:

Tim Schafer’s Anita Sarkeesian video link
Tim Schafer (@TimOfLegend) linked a video about how women are treated in video games. JonTron’s response was pretty low-class.
Anyway, Tim reacted and JonTron continued to be a piece of shit about it.
I don’t want to be accused of excluding details to bolster my argument, so I will say that Jon and Tim later apparently had a private discussion and came to some sort of understanding (link). But that doesn’t really excuse Jon’s acting like a fuckwit.

JonTron had less than nice things to say at the height of the Gamergate controversy:

Worse yet, he later linked to an incredibly offensive comic targeting Zoe Quinn and opponents of Gamergate. I’m not gonna include the comic in this post but if you really want to see it, it’s here (NSFW). Basically, it shows a Gamergate supporter arguing that Zoe Quinn is a manipulative slut while Phil Fish yells idiotic retorts and Zoe Quinn has a big orgy behind him. There’s also someone screaming at JonTron for using the word “retarded” (see above).
Anyway, here he is once again handling backlash in the worst possible manner:

Wikipedia deletion
This is more of a personal gripe of mine than something that a lot of people would be offended by, but I’m gonna include it anyway. When Jon’s Wikipedia page was put up for deletion for a lack of notability, he responded by sending his followers to bombard the deletion discussion.
This achieves nothing but is incredibly annoying for the real Wikipedia editors trying to keep Wikipedia clean. Not to mention that it shows how hypocritical he was when he bitched about Tim Schafer sending a mob after JonTron, when he’s willing to do the exact same thing to Wikipedians.
Conclusion
All in all, JonTron is a piece of fucking shit and really just needs to get off the internet. It’s a damn shame, cuz I used to really enjoy some of his YouTube content, but I’ve pretty much lost interest since seeing the shit he tweets.
